No, we are not doctoral-level clinicians. Within the field of counseling, which is our field of practice, the terminal clinical degree is a Master's degree, which differs from the terminal clinical degree in psychology, for example, which is a Doctoral degree. Our doctoral degrees, accredited by CACREP, while not considered terminal clinical degrees, focused on areas such as counseling (including additional practica and internship hours), supervision, teaching, research and scholarship, and leadership and advocacy. The nature of our doctoral-level training equips us to serve a broad range of needs, in addition to traditional mental health services from a clinical perspective.
We do not occupy physical office space. This gives us the opportunity to (a) keep our prices low, (b) provide flexibility in our hours of availability, and (c) allow our clients to access our services as it fits into their lives, without needing to worry about traffic, take extra time off of work or school, or navigate unfamiliar environments.
If requested by clients, we are always open to in-person meetings within the Denver metropolitan area for the initial consultation. We know that many individuals benefit from in-person contact, toward building a more productive working relationship, and are happy to collaborate with individual clients to designate an appropriate public meeting location for the initial consultation meeting. Locations may include mutually convenient public libraries, coffee shops, or other publicly accessible environments. Locations that provide a level of confidentiality are encouraged.
